India will face Pakistan in 2nd match of Asia cup 2022 India will face Pakistan in 2nd match of Asia cup 2022

This will be the first meeting between the two teams since Pakistan defeated India by a 10-wicket margin at the same venue in last year's T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue were eliminated from the World Cup after a stunning defeat by Pakistan.

However, since being knocked out of the World Cup early, India has found form, going unbeaten in seven bilateral series. This run included victories over New Zealand, the West Indies (twice), Sri Lanka, Ireland, and England, as well as a tie with South Africa.

India's outstanding run, combined with their number one rating in T20Is, has propelled them to the top of the Asia Cup standings this year.

Pakistan advanced to the World Cup semifinals but was eliminated following a loss against Australia. Given the Asia Cup and the looming T20 World Cup, Pakistan would have like to play more T20 cricket, but the country's international schedule has been devoid of T20 matches.

Pakistan has only played two bilateral series and one T20 match since their World Cup campaign last year. Pakistan won both series against Bangladesh and the West Indies, both by 3-0 scores. The one-off game was against Australia, and the defending world champions easily won it.

However, once the two rivals enter the field in Dubai, India's form and Pakistan's lack of T20 experience will be secondary concerns.

Aside from team rivalries, the spotlight will be on two-star batsmen on both sides. The world of cricket is eager to witness Pakistan captain Babar Azam and former Indian skipper Virat Kohli share the stage.

Following injuries, Jasprit Bumrah and Shaheen Shah Afridi have been ruled out of the Asia Cup. Both India's and Pakistan's bowling attacks will be less successful without Bumrah and Afridi.

Aside from the regular suspects, keep an eye out for Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Rizwan, as these players have the potential to be match winners.
