    Mohammad Siraj is an Indian young cricket bowler, who is known for his dangerous bowling. Siraj is emerging as the new young bowler of India today, but Siraj’s early life was full of challenges, but today joining the Indian cricket team has given new strength to the Indian team. 

    Early Life

    Siraj was born in Hyderabad on 13 March 1994. A self-made cricketer, Mohammed Siraj hails from a financially-crippled family. His father was an auto-rickshaw puller in Hyderabad and his mother was a housewife. Interestingly, Siraj started as a batsman as a child. But one day when he was playing gully cricket, his friends told him that his bowling was much better than his batting. To this day, Siraj credits his friends for his success.

    Mohammed Siraj's International Career

    In October 2017, he was named to the Indian Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) squad for the series against New Zealand. He made his T20I debut for India on 4 November 2017 against New Zealand.

    He made his ODI debut on January 15, 2019, against Australia at the Adelaide Oval. On October 26, 2020, Siraj was named to India's Test squad for the series against Australia. 

    After having to choose between Navdeep Saini and Siraj following an injury to Mohammad Shami, Siraj Saini was preferred and made his Test match debut for India against Australia on 26 December 2020.

    In January 2021, during the fourth Test of the series against Australia, Siraj took his first five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

    Mohammed Siraj's IPL Career

    The speedy right-hander caught the eye at the 2017 IPL auctions when Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for INR 2.6 million, starting from a base price of 20 lakh. Royal Challengers Bangalore, looking to build a new team, recognised Siraj's talent and made a bid for him in the 2018 auctions. They beat four other franchises to bring Siraj to Bangalore for INR 2.6 million 

    On October 21, 2020, he became the first bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League to throw two maiden overs (maiden throws) in a row in a single match.

    Test cricket

    Siraj made an immediate impression as he took 5 wickets in two innings to help India win the match by 8 wickets.

    His next impressive performance came on the final day of the Lord's Test in August 2021 when he outplayed 4 batsmen including Jos Buttler and James Anderso.

    ODI Cricket

    Siraj took 18 wickets (24/4.45) in the 12 matches he played in 2022, and the right-arm seamer was recently named Player of the Series against South Africa for his breathtaking spells - both in the Powerplay and in the closing stages.

    T20I cricket

    In November 2017, he made his T20I debut against New Zealand, taking his first T20I wicket along with Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson. He ended up with a record of 4-0-1-53.
