The victory made Neal Skupski and Desirae Krawczyk the first pairing to win back-to-back mixed doubles titles at Wimbledon since the Croatian siblings Cyril Suk and Helena Sukova in 1996 and 1997.

The second-seeded British-American pairing faced some resistance and the opening set but closed it out with a 6-4 victory. They suffered an early break in the second set but immediately bounced back to clinch four consecutive games to seal their victory after one hour and 27 minutes of play. Matt Ebden and Sam Stosur failed to find their footing throughout the second set and were unable to find a tactic to counter the left-handed service of Desirae Krawczyk.

In a post-match interview, Desirae Krawczyk said, "I was a little bit nervous starting. But I got through that first service game pretty well, serving well, hitting a few aces. That was a crucial point in the match to get through that game because if we go down a break there, it can be difficult to win that set. But we kept the momentum, and we stayed in it.

She further added, "I am speechless. This has been a special moment—two in a row at Wimbledon.

It was the fourth mixed doubles Grand Slam trophy for Desirae Krawczyk. She had won the mixed double titles at Wimbledon, Rolland Garros and the US Open last year.

Australian Matt Ebden still has an opportunity to win a trophy at Wimbledon. The 34-year-old will lock horns with the Croatian pairing of Nikola Mektić and Mate Pavic in the men's doubles trophy championship match on July 9. Matt Ebden and his partner Max Purcell advanced to the finals after beating Joe Salisbury and Rajeev Ram 6-3, 7-6(7-1), 6-7(9-11), 4-6, 2-6 in a semifinal clash on July 7.
