The recent Kyrgios outburst has sparked the conversation around the biggest and the most controversial outbreaks in the history of Wimbledon. Here are a few that we found the most mind-boggling.

    Wimbledon 1981: McEnroe infamous outburst

McEnroe's outburst in Wimbledon 1981 is the most memorable in Wimbledon history. Though McEnroe has overreacted on the field several times, this one incident mainly stuck with the fans. During a Wimbledon match, the umpire made a line call that made McEnroe so unhappy that he lost his cool. He hurled at the referee, "You cannot be serious, " which became one of the most common American phrases. After another line call, he lost it again and said, "You guys are the pits of the world!"

Wimbledon 2003: Greg Rusedski's surprising meltdown

When someone from the audience shouted 'out', it distracted the player resulting in him turning his back around and forfeiting the point. The umpire refused a replay, upset Greg so much that he started hurling abuses at him. His language was so disturbing that it completely changed the image of the calm and sweet personality he had maintained throughout his career.

Wimbledon 1995: Jeff Tarango told the audience to shut up

Jeff Tarango told the crowd to shut up while cheering for his opponent. On this reaction, the umpire served him a code violation. The service triggered him even more, and he became the first-ever player to leave the court in the middle of the match. Before leaving the court, he told the umpire that he was the "most corrupt official in the game", took his kit and left.

Wimbledon 2013: Fabio Fognini on-court Opera

Fabio has also been seen throwing tantrums on the court several times. His infamous outburst during Wimbledon 2013 is worth a mention. On the umpire's wide call, he protested against it by rolling on the ground and singing opera. Fabio's tantrum in 2013 lists the unique ways of disagreeing with the umpire of all time.

Wimbledon 2000: Anna Smashnova attempted to hit her opponent's husband

Anna is the only woman to make the list of the most memorable tantrums in Wimbledon history. She smashed the ball hard to hit her opponent Katalin Marosi-Aracama's husband. Though she missed the shot, the ball hit one of the spectators. Anna alleged that her husband was trying to instigate her throughout the game, which resulted in her outburst. She was fined for her misbehaviour.
