While Margaret Court became the second woman to win all four grand slams in a single season, Billie Jean King became the first-ever woman to earn more than $100,000 in a year. Rosemary Casals, another tennis diva of the age, won 11 grand slam doubles titles, most of them played with Billie Jean by her side. These remarkable women have carved the way for women to earn the love and recognition they deserve in the field of sports, and we all owe them big time for showing us such terrific and entertaining performances on the court. Here are some of their accomplishments that can't go unmentioned.

    Margaret Court

Margaret Court is, hands down, one of the greatest players of all time. She took women's tennis to a whole new level making records that even tennis stars like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal haven't been able to match. She won all four grand slam titles in one year in 1970. It is a remarkable tennis achievement and a benchmark by which most tennis players are judged. Her outstanding achievements in the sport didn't only begin in 1970. Even before, she had been on a winning spree as in 1963 and 1965; she consecutively won all notable doubles titles. If this wasn't enough, her list of accomplishments includes winning singles, doubles and mixed doubles in the same tournament in the same year. Moreover, she has also accomplished the same for all the major tennis tournaments. She has her name on top of this article because she is the GOAT in tennis and no one can ever take that away from her.

    Billie Jean King

Though named King, Billie Jean is the tennis queen, making all efforts to get women what they always deserved in the sport. She has always shown her best performance, both on-court and off-court. Billie Jean headed the movement for getting women paid as much as men in tennis and was the first woman to earn $100,000 in a single season. She founded the Women's Sports Foundation and the Women's Tennis Association. When Billie beat Bobby Riggs 6–4, 6–3, 6–3 in the "battle of the sexes", she proved to the entire world why women deserve every bit of what men deserve and the equality between the two genders was established very then. She also holds the record for most titles in Wimbledon (singles, doubles and mixed doubles) with 20 Wimbledon titles. She has 39 grand slam titles leaving a mark on every tennis player.

    Rosemary Casals

Rosemary Casals is another one of the big names of the era. She was seen alongside Jean King on and off the court at many significant events. She fought with King for women's rights in the sport and equal pay. They also fought hard together on the court, making the two biggest divas of their time. Rosemary holds 11 singles titles and 11 grand slam doubles titles, many of which were played with Billie Jean King by her side. She also holds 112 pro doubles titles, of which 11 were won at grand slam tournaments. With her incredible game and remarkable prowess, she has not only made an eternal name in tennis but has also inspired many young girls to want to enter the sport.
