Both Andy Murray and James Duckworth have undergone hip surgeries and returned to the tennis court to compete at the prestigious Grand Slam event. The Scot has made steady progress since returning to the court after undergoing hip surgery, beating Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios to advance to the finals at Stuttgart Open.

The match had a slow start as James Duckworth took Andy Murray by surprise to win the first set 4-6. However, Andy Murray found his rhythm and took control of the match with his timely moves and counter-punching in the second set.

In the fourth set, both the players were equally matched until 4-4, when a double fault by the Australian gave Andy Murray an advantage. The two-time Grand Slam champion took advantage and sealed his victory on an incorrect challenge by James Duckworth after two hours and 43 minutes of play to secure a second-round spot.

In an on-court interview, Andy Murray said, "I thought I did well to rebound after the first set. He likes playing on the grass. He's come back from a hip surgery himself in January and was playing very well. "Once I started to find my returns a little bit more as the match went on, I felt a bit more comfortable. Did well to get through it.

Andy Murray will face John Isner of the United States in the second round of Wimbledon on June 29.

Cameron Norrie starts British charge with opening win

Ninth-seed Cameron Norrie won against Pablo Andújar of Spain 6-0 7-6 (7-3) 6-4 in the opening round of the Wimbledon 2022.

Cameron Norrie is the only British man in the top ten seeds at Wimbledon since Andy Murray in 2017. The British No. 1 started the match confidently, winning the first set against his Spanish with a bagel in just 23 minutes. However, Pablo Andújar broke the Brit in the second set before the match had to be halted due to rainy weather. After they returned to court, the challenging second set was won by Cameron Norrie after a crucial tie-break.

Cameron Norrie started the third set aggressively, saving a breakpoint to get a quick 4-2 lead. He finally overcame the Spaniard after eight deuces to advance to the second round.

In a post-match interview, Cameron Norrie said, "That was not easy. I saw the dark clouds coming and someone shouted, 'get it done before the rain'. I was like 'come on, I'm trying to get it done. A lot of waiting around. It wasn't the prettiest performance, but I got it done in straight sets and I'll take that and move on."

Cameron Norrie will lock horns with Jaume Munar of Spain in the second round of Wimbledon. The Spaniard advanced to the second round after beating Thiago Monteiro of Brazil 6-2, 6-4, 7-5 in the opener.
