He further declared $100 donations for each ace shall be made to Wings For Life, a non-profit foundation working towards spinal cord research.

His Instagram update read, "Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know that I’m going to be donating $100 for every ace I hit during the Miami Open. I will donate to Wings For Life, specialising in spinal cord research and it is a non-profit charity.

"I’m going to be calling on my friends Cameron Norrie and Stefanos Tsitsipas to be doing the same. We will be giving $100 dollars for every ace hit."

Along with his status update on social media, he shared a link for the public to add contributions for the foundation and also urged Cameron Norrie and Stefanos Tsitsipas to follow what he's doing for the cause.

Reilly Opelka's decision to donate is expected to raise quite a contribution given his average was more than 17 aces a match last year.

On being asked about the foundation and their work, Opelka said, "I can’t say enough about the amazing work Wings For Life does to support individuals with spinal cord injuries through crucial research,"

"The Wings for Life campaign is an important way to not only raise money that will be 100 per cent dedicated to researching a cure, but also to promote awareness of spinal cord injuries that affect millions of people around the world." he continued.

Reilly Opelka's season so far is going remarkably. He won the Dallas Open and then ended up being a runner-up at the Delray Beach. He also defeated Lorenzo Musetti and Denis Shapovalov at the Indian Wells.

Though he lost to Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals, his incredible performance in international tennis is expected to make a significant contribution to Wings For Life.

His request to his fans to contribute as well is also expected to help the foundation and its cause.
