Top players will participate in the bid to secure one of the most significant and most challenging to win titles in the sport. Daniil Medvedev will attempt to defend his title in the men's draw.

He defeated Novak Djokovic in last year's final and denied him another Grand Slam. Meanwhile, the Serb might be exempted from competing this year due to the vaccine mandate.

World number three Rafael Nadal will start his campaign for a 23rd Major crown, hoping to extend his lead among men while leveling Serena Williams' Grand Slam count.

The American will be a hyped player this year, primarily due to her recent announcement confirming her retirement after the US Open. In contrast to Serena's exit from the world of tennis, Emma Raducanu is just getting started.

She won her maiden Grand Slam title as a qualifier in 2021, shocking the world. Likewise, there are multiple contenders for the title across the ATP and WTA tours.

Although Medvedev is reputed to be one of the best hardcourt players around, the threat posed by teen sensation Carlos Alcaraz cannot be ignored.

Nick Kyrgios is in good form, and the 27-year-old will be hungry for more success now that he has been a Grand Slam finalist. Unfortunately, Naomi Osaka is experiencing a challenging period that lessens the two-time US Open champion's chances of winning this year.

World number one Iga Swiatek's 37 matches long winning streak gives her more advantage and power over her peers. As New York gets ready for a remarkable fortnight, here are essential details regarding the tournament!
