The Romanian was defeated by Australian Open runner-up Danielle Collins in straight sets but seemed to have moved on. Halep has started working with Patrick Mouratoglou, who used to coach Serena Williams, and the pair are now targetting the French Open. After the defeat, Halep went to Instagram and shared a picture of herself alongside Mouratoglou, with the caption:

"Throughout all my career I fought for what I believed in and wanted to achieve. I will always do so through the ups and downs. The unconditional support that I receive from many of you means the world to me. Thank you, the fight goes on." The former world one put on an impressive show in Madrid last week after losing to Ons Jabeur in the quarterfinals. After winning the French Open title in 2019, Halep is expected to perform well in this year's event. Romanian Simona Halep then expressed her sentiments to her fans and gratitude to her supporters. The 30-year-old has won two Grand Slams and has been ranked number one globally.

Halep found solace in her fans and the support she received

Halep has had her fair share of disappointments despite being loaded with achievements. After losing her first Grand Slam finals, she thought she would never fulfil her dream of winning a Grand Slam. Luckily, her fans never stopped believing in her, which helped her regain her lost will. She eventually achieved her goals and decided to keep fighting. Halep shared a tweet that said, "Throughout all my career, I fought for what I believed in and wanted to achieve. I will always do so through the ups and downs.

The unconditional support that I receive from many of you means the world to me. Thank you, the fight goes on," Halep wrote on Twitter. In a recent interview, Halep also disclosed that she experienced a difficult period after enduring a calf injury in 2021. Her condition compelled her to withdraw from the French Open, Wimbledon and the Tokyo Olympics. She skipped three significant events, which wasn't easy for the tennis star.

Still, Halep's 2022 season began smoothly despite her lingering doubts about her life. After coach Mouratoglou's arrival, things have drastically improved. Help is now aiming to win Grand Slam titles and improve her form, so she invited Mouratoglou to her team. Halep will be working hard to win her third Grand Slam title at this year's French Open.
