    The sixth-seeded Spaniard has advanced to the quarter-final at Roland Garros with his 14th consecutive victory. The win against Khachanov also made him the youngest player in 29 years to reach two Grand Slam quarter-finals.

    Carlos Alcaraz won the first set 6-1 in just 29 minutes with an exciting display of raw power, deft drop shots and punishing forehands. Karen Khachanov offered some resistance in the second set, but the Spaniard broke him at 3-3 and failed to turn the match back in his favour.

    Karen Khachanov broke Carlos Alcaraz just once in the final set. However, the 19-year-old went back in action with an excellent tweener and wrapped up the match after two hours and 14 minutes of play. The Russian failed to trouble with his spin, depth and power. He made 35 unfocused errors and fired 19 winners compared to 37 by Carlos Alcaraz.

    After the match, Carlos Alcaraz said, "It has been a great match from my side. I played well from the beginning until the end of the game. I knew I had to be focused from the beginning. I expected the level that I played. I started well, and I kept my level for the whole match. I am very happy with it.

    Carlos Alcaraz will face Alexander Zverev of Germany in a quarter-final clash on May 31.

    Rafael Nadal wins to set up a Novak Djokovic quarter-final clash in Paris

    Rafael Nadal won against Felix Auger-Aliassime of Canada 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at Stade Roland Garros in the fourth round of the French Open on May 29.

    Fifth seed Rafael Nadal dropped sets for the first time at this year's French Open. Felix Auger-Aliassime took advantage of a slow start by Rafael Nadal and put forth a brilliant display of quality and composure to threaten Rafael Nadal with an early exit.

    Rafael Nadal struggled with his game on Court Philippe Chatrier, but he stepped up when needed to edge past his Canadian opponent after a gruelling four hours and 21 minutes of play across five sets. Rafael Nadal has been taken to the fifth set just thrice in 112 matches at Roland Garros. The victory improved his win-loss record at Roland Garros to 109-3.

    In a post-match interview, Rafael Nadal said, "It was a significant victory for me. I didn't start the match well, I had a lot of opportunities to break, but I couldn't convert. I finished the third much better. I am happy with the attitude at the end because I could play more aggressively and go more to the net.

    As a result of his victory, Rafael Nadal will face Novak Djokovic in a much-awaited quarter-final clash. The tennis greats will lock horns on May 31 to continue their rivalry with a 59th career faceoff.
