T20 World Cup 2022: Sri Lanka VS Netherlands - Sri Lanka won by 16 runs against the Netherlands

The Lankans have recovered brilliantly and certainly go into the break as the luckier of the two teams. Mendis' innings have given Lanka a real chance to secure their place in the next round

Mendis was the mainstay for the Lankans. In the first half of these innings, they lost two and had great difficulty in scoring. However, the runs started flowing once Mendis got his eye on it. Charith Asalanka was the perfect match for him, and the two took their team to safety scoring over fifty.

The Netherlands were excellent in the first ten overs. They hit the right lines and lengths, making it difficult for the Lankans. They did not have luck on their side, as there were many moments when things did not go their way.

Paul van Meekeren was brilliant. He bowled with a lot of paces and was impressed. The two spinners were also good in the beginning, but after the first 10, the Dutch had no answer to the onslaught. Fred Klaassen, Timm van der Gugten, and Bas de Leede were expensive, and that second half might cost them the game.

The Netherlands has struggled to chase mediocre scores in this tournament, and we believe this is a little too much for them. If they are to track this down, someone will have to play a blinder. On the other side, Lanka will support itself in its defence.
