This is the first time in the last eight seasons that DC has won the tournament defeating Patna Pirates, who have been champions of the league three times in the past. While Patna Pirates played well throughout, the top six positions were still vacant until the very end. Ultimately the five teams that cut were Delhi Capitals(the winners), Gujarat Giants, Bengaluru Bulls, UP Yoddha, and Puneri Paltan.

Now that the league is over, it's time to analyse the season's best players. This edition saw many fresh faces, and many of them played incredibly well despite playing their maiden season. Mohammadreza Chiyaneh is one of them. In his first season, he scored 89 tackle points in total with an average of 3.71. Playing for the three-time champions, Patna Pirates, he left no stone unturned in keeping the team's head high throughout the tournament. Though some might say that Patna Pirates' loss to Delhi Dabangs in the finals is Chiyaneh's fault for missing good opportunities to score, his consistent performance throughout still shows his terrific talent in the game.

Sumit from UP Yoddha was another one of the best defenders last season. With 62 total tackle points and an average of 2.58, Sumit continued his form from the 7th season. Among others, UP Yoddha made it to the semi-finals due to his incredible performance. Though he couldn't help the team make it to the finals, his performance in the season indeed makes him one of the top 5 defenders, and he is expected to return next season.

With 69 tackle points and an average of 2.88 tackle points every match, Saurabh Nandal took Bengaluru Bulls to the top six. He also made two high fives and six super tackles for his team. Sagar from Tamil Thalaivas was another good defender last season. He scored almost double what he scored in the previous season. His significant improvement in his performance took him to 82 tackle points with a shocking average of 3.73 tackle points every match. Though Tamil Thalaivas didn't cut the top six, Sagar is returning in the next season due to his outstanding performance in season 8.
