Sometimes, destiny takes unfortunate turns, and big players suffer severe injuries at crucial stages in the league. In a sport like Kabaddi that involves extreme physical strain, anyone could suffer season-ending damage at any time.

Here's a list of a few players that suffered season-ending injuries in the history of PKL:

    #1 Pawan Sehrawat (Season 9)

Pawan Sehrawat is the most expensive player this season and the first player ever to cross the two Crore mark. He was bought by Tamil Thalaivas this season for 2.26 Crores.

Unfortunately, he suffered a severe injury in the first game of the Tamil franchise and has been out of the season since then.

Though the coach and other players were hopeful that he would return in the second leg, recent reports have come out that say that he's not going to play this season.

    #2 Ajay Thakur (Season 8)

Ajay Thakur, the previous captain of Tamil Thalaivas and one of the best raiders of PKL, was bought by Dabang Delhi in season eight.

Unfortunately, he could only score five raid points for the Delhi franchise before he suffered a season-ending injury. He couldn't return to the team after the damage for the rest of the season, and though Delhi won, they couldn't use Ajay Thakur's talent.

    #3 Surender Nada (Season 7)

Patna Pirates bought Surender Nada in season seven to strengthen their defence for a whopping 77 Lakhs.

Patna Pirates had great raiders in the team, but its defence was pretty weak. They reserved all their hopes in veteran Surender Nada and expected a great season.

Unfortunately, due to a severe injury, Surender Nada stayed off the mat for most of the season, and the pirates only had to make do with a weak defence.

    #4 Nitin Tomar (Season 6)

Just like Pawan Sehrawat this season, the season-ending injury of Nitin Tomar was also terribly disheartening. Bought for a whopping 1.15 Crores in season six, Puneri Paltan was expecting a terrific performance by Nitin Tomar.

Unfortunately, Nitin Tomar could only play 11 matches and got injured. In the first 11 matches, he made 102 raid points, but his form was put to rest after his severe season-ending injury.
