Kabaddi Pro League: Maninder Singh, captain and star player for Bengal Warriors 

    Maninder Singh, one of the International Kabaddi players of the Indian team, is also the captain of Bengal Warriors in the Vivo Pro Kabaddi League

    His remarkable talent and skills won him a gold medal at the 2017 Asian Kabaddi Championship. He also helped his team, Jaipur Pink Panthers, win the first edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. 

    Maninder Singh's Early Life

    Maninder Singh was born to a wealthy zamindar father in Jalandhar. His father was a Kabaddi enthusiast and wished his son to train for the sport. Maninder started playing Kabaddi at a very young age during his school days. After representing his school in various district and state tournaments, he was selected for the U-19 team of his university. At one of the tournaments, his incredible strength and skills impressed Hanumat Singh, who later went ahead to become Jaipur Pink Panthers' coach. Maninder Singh made his debut in PKL in the first season for Jaipur Pink Panthers, the team that ended up winning the tournament. 

    Maninder Singh's career in PKL

    Maninder Singh debuted in PKL in the first season with Jaipur Pink Panthers. He made 130 raid points in the 16 matches he played and pushed the team to win the title. After the first season, Maninder suffered an injury, which resulted in missing the next three seasons. In the fifth season, he played for Bengal Warriors. In PKL 5, He made 190 raid points and two tackle points in the 21 matches he played for Bengal Warriors.

    In the subsequent seasons, he was also retained by Bengal Warriors, where he continued to make his best scores of more than 205 raid points in a season. Maninder Singh made a colossal 264 raid points in the eighth season of PKL. He is now the captain and lead raider of Bengal Warriors. 

    Maninder Singh's International Career

    Maninder Singh played for the Indian Kabaddi team in 2017-2018 for the Asian Kabaddi Championship. He gave a tremendous performance for the team and won his first international gold medal in 2018 at the Asian Kabaddi Championship.

    • Highest raid score in Jaipur Pink Panthers in the first season- 130 raid points in 16 matches
    • Fastest 500 in the history of Pro Kabaddi League- 500 raid points in 56 games.
