Pro Kabaddi League: Dabang Delhi K.C. begin title defense with a 41-27 victory over U Mumba

    Defending champions Dabang Delhi K.C. began their campaign in the ninth season of the VIVO Pro Kabaddi League with a 41-27 victory over U Mumba at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on October 7

    Dabang Delhi K.C began aggressively and raced to an 11-5 lead in the ninth minute, backed up by defenders Sandeep Dhull and Vishal Bhardwaj. 

    Captain of Dabang Delhi K.C, Naveen Kumar, racked up 13 points with a series of great raids. He kept scoring raid points while Krishan led the defensive line and kept the raiders of U Mumba at bay to go into halftime with a commanding 19-10 lead.

    Mumba pushed back in the second half as Kiran Magar and Ashish pulled off a few excellent tackles to clinch some crucial raid points. Soon after, Naveen Kumar recorded his maiden Super 10 of the season with only three U Mumba defenders on the mat.

    Dabang Delhi K.C. attained a massive 12-point lead over U Mumba in the 40th minute as Naveen Kumar eventually picked up raid points to secure a 41-12 victory.

    Bengaluru Bulls beats Telugu Titans in Southern Derby

    Bengaluru Bulls put forth an excellent display in the second match of the opening day to beat Telugu Titans 34-29 in the Southern Derby at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium.

    Telugu Titans began on a positive note as Vinay quickly won the very first raid of the match. The whole squad worked well as a unit, and Siddharth Desai added a few more points.

    However, Bengaluru Bulls roared back after the early setback and wiped out the narrow lead of the Telugu Titans. Neeraj Narwal racked up a total of seven points, while the dynamic duo of Bharat Naresh and Vikash Kandola added five points each.

    Bengaluru Bulls entered the second half with a dominating five points lead. Telugu Titans pushed back and managed to gain a narrow lead in the first five minutes, but Neeraj Narwal won back-to-back points with a do-or-die raid to regain the lead for Bengaluru Bulls.

    Vishal Bhardwaj conceded a couple of significant points due to several untimely errors putting the game in favour of the Bengaluru Bulls. Rajnish tried to pull off a reversal for Telugu Titans in the match's final minutes. However, the Bengaluru Bulls held firm to secure a comfortable victory.

    In the day's final match, the U.P. Yoddhas secured a narrow 34-32 victory over Jaipur Pink Panthers.
