Teun Koopmeiners in the 50th minute and Wout Weghorst in the fourth minute of the extended time were the goal scorers for the Dutch side, while Rhys Norrington-Davies in the second minute of the extended time was the sole goal scorer for Wales.

The Netherlands made 11 changes to their squad, with several young players making their debuts, including Jordan Teze and Jerdy Schouten. Wales took control of the match initially as the Dutch side struggled to gain possession. Harry Wilson got close to scoring with a free-kick just before the half-time, but his effort was denied by the Dutch goalkeeper Mark Flekken. The first half ended with both sides failing to score.

The Netherlands had a comparatively better start in the second half. Teun Koopmeiners fired the ball into the bottom left corner of the net after receiving a pass from Jerdy Schouten, giving the Dutch side a 1-0 lead just five minutes after the break. Wales soon burst into action and mounted constant pressure on the Dutch defence. They finally got a breakthrough in the second minute of the extended time when Rhys Norrington-Davies headed a cross into the net to level the score.

It looked like the match would end in a tie, but Frenkie de Jong rushed through the midfield and passed the ball to Tyrell Malacia on the left flank. The Dutch left-back sent an excellent cross into the penalty area of Wales. Wout Weghorst made no mistake and calmly headed the cross into the net to seal the victory for the Netherlands.

It was the first loss at the home ground since November 2018 for Wales. The defeat ended their 19-match unbeaten home streak.

After the match, Wales captain Gareth Bale said, "It was a difficult game. We didn't have our full-strength squad. They're a world-class team and we deserve to be testing ourselves against the best. The boys who came in worked very hard to get the equaliser, then to concede after that was gutting. It's something we have to learn, maybe the dark arts of taking him down."

Anthony Ralston was the star player of the match for Scotland. The 23-year-old was in the thick of the action since the start, setting up two opportunities for Andy Robertson and Stuart Armstrong. Ralston opened the scoring for Scotland in the 28th minute with a powerful back-post header. Just 12 minutes later, Scott McKenna made it 2-0 for Scotland. The Armenian side failed to give much trouble to the Scottish defence, while Anthony Ralston continued to power through the right-wing.

Anthony added, "It felt amazing. I enjoyed every minute of it. I am just happy to have contributed to the team. I just tried to get myself in at the back post; I've headed it down and at the angle that I was at; I didn't know if it was going it, but I could see it hit the net, so that was another proud moment. It's every kid's dream to play for your country and score for it, so to have done that is unique."
