Lorenzo Pellegrini in the 70th minute was the lone goal scorer for Italy, while Joshua Kimmich in the 73rd minute was the only one to score for Germany. In four minutes of the second half, two goals saw the Group A3 opener between Germany and Italy end with both squads walking away with one point each.

The Italian captain Lorenzo Pellegrini broke the long deadlock when he shot the ball into the net in the 70th minute, only for Joshua Kimmich to level the score just three minutes later.

Head coach of Italy, Roberto Mancini, said, "We were a bit naive in conceding the equaliser immediately after our goal. It is a shame. It was not an easy game, especially initially, but then we did well. I am happy for the lads. They were good against a great national team.”

England suffers dismal Hungary defeat to kick off Nations League campaign

Hungary won against England 1-0 in a UEFA Nations League match at Puskás Aréna Park in Budapest, Hungary, on June 4. England had a disappointing start to their UEFA Nations League trophy bid as they limped to a loss against Hungary. England started with strength but fell behind when a cross landed on the feet of Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai whose effort was saved by Conor Cindy.

England continued to control more of the ball, but Hungary kept on troubling the English defence with commitment. Both the squads failed to break the deadlock, and they went into the break after a goalless first half.

The hosts kept on looking for opportunities to score in the second half. They found a breakthrough, but a long-distance shot by Zsolt Nagy went to the side of the goalpost. In the 66th minute, Hungary got a penalty when Reece James committed a foul in the box. Dominik Szoboszlai took the penalty and slotted the ball into the English net past Jordan Pickford, giving Hungary a 1-0 lead.

English squad soon bounced back with renewed vigour after the shock goal. Harry Kane, Jarrod Bowen, Jude Bellingham, and Coady generated plenty of opportunities but failed to convert, ending the long unbeaten run of England with a sorry performance.
