Tottenham on high alert as Bayern Munich could be forced to pay €30m to sack Julian Nagelsmann

Bayern Munich are reportedly set to part ways with head coach Julian Nagelsmann, which could cost the club up to 30million.

The impending departure of the 35-year-old coach has put Tottenham on high alert, with the London Evening Standard claiming that the London club is planning to make contact with Nagelsmann.

Nagelsmann, who currently earns around €8-9million per year, would remain on the payroll until he finds a new club or negotiates a compensation fee with Bayern.

However, the German media report that his dismissal imminent, but no automatic clauses in his contract have been triggered.

Bayern are said to be concerned about their chances of winning the treble this season, with the club having dropped 10 points this year and losing the Bundesliga top spot to Borussia Dortmund.

Nagelsmann's perfect record in the Champions League this season hasn't been enough to save him, with the Bayern bosses reportedly feeling that he is largely to blame for the team's poor overall performances.

Off-the-pitch factors have also played a role in Nagelsmann's possible dismissal, with Kicker reporting that he had gradually lost the trust of the players in the dressing room.

Robert Lewandowski criticized Nagelsmann last season before leaving to join Barcelona, and others have since followed suit. Among the German internationals, only Joshua Kimmich was considered a "loyal follower".

Nagelsmann's public appearances did not help his cause either, with the coach often presenting himself as the star of the club. His relationship with a Bild journalist and the dismissal of goalkeeping coach Toni Tapalovic also caused a stir.

Bayern are set to replace Nagelsmann with Thomas Tuchel, a coach they have had their eye on for several years, according to Sky Germany.

Tuchel is expected to lead his first training session as Bayern coach on Monday, preparing for the match against his former employer Dortmund in early April.

The decision to dismiss Nagelsmann has reportedly been a surprise to both the coach and the players, with neither party having any knowledge of the decision until Thursday night.
