Off the field issues have dominated proceedings at Chelsea following the sanctioning of club owner Roman Abramovich by the UK Government eight days ago.

Chelsea have been allowed to continue operating under a special license, but they are unable to sell merchandise or new tickets to fans, have had their travel budget for away games capped, and are not allowed to sign or re-sign players.

Abramovich is looking to sell the club, with a number of interested parties submitting bids ahead of today’s deadline, but speculation has been rife that Tuchel could move to Old Trafford, with the Manchester side looking to replace interim manager Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season.

Chelsea’s problems have not affected them on the pitch, with the Blues winning their Premier League match against Newcastle United last Sunday and then qualifying for the last-eight of the Champions League by defeating Lille 2-1 in mid-week.

They now face Middlesbrough in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday and ahead of the game, Tuchel said in his press conference, "Actually no reaction at all [to the rumours],"

"Do you feel me less committed to the club or less involved in the club? Absolutely not.

"I have said many times that I love to be here and this club has everything it needs to make me happy. There is no need. We have plenty of reasons to stay at the moment."

The Blues could still win both the FA Cup and Champions League this season, and will be looking to progress to the semi-finals of the former by defeating the Championship side.

Meanwhile, in Europe’s premier competition, they have been drawn against Real Madrid in the quarter-finals and could face fellow Premier League side Manchester City should they successfully navigate the tie.
