Premier League clubs have to sustain a negative financial impact if they are relegated and dropped from the top flight of English football. It leads to players from these teams being placed on sale for cut-price values. Star left-back Andrew Robertson was signed by Liverpool when Hull City was relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2016/17 Premier League season. The Reds also signed Gini Wijnaldum after Newcastle United got relegated in 2016/17.

Some players will be up for grabs as clubs from Premier League and other top divisions look to sign star players at a bargain price.

    Player: Nick Pope Team: Burnley

Nick Pope is one of the most reliable goalkeepers in the English Premier League and has received regular call ups for the English squad. He made 141 appearances across the last four seasons and kept 47 clean sheets. The contract of the 20-year-old keeper with Burnley has just one year left to expire. He has previously received interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham and remains one of the most valuable assets for Burnley.

    Player: James Tarkowski Team: Burnley

James Tarkowski had been a regular part of Burnley's defence for their entire six-season stay at the English Premier League. He played 175 matches for the club with an average of 35 per season since 2017/18. His contract with the Clarets ran out at the end of the 2021-22 season, and the English centre-back is now up for grabs as a free agent.

James Tarkowski has garnered interest from West Ham, Fulham, Newcastle, Everton and Aston Villa. It is reported that Everton and Newcastle are frontrunners in the fiveway chase to sign the Burnley centre-back.

    Player: Emmanuel Dennis  Team: Watford

Emmanuel Dennis was one of the best performers for Watford this season, scoring ten goals and generating six assists. The Nigerian forward created 95 shot-creating opportunities for Watford despite issues with his form in the latter half of the season.

Kevin Phillips, a former striker of Sunderland, said that he believes Emmanuel Dennis can score 15-20 goals for West Ham if they can successfully secure the transfer. It is expected that Watford will be asking for a pretty good price as his contract will expire in 2026.

Player: Teemu Pukki Team: Norwich City

Teemu Pukki was the primary goal scorer for Norwich City, scoring 11 of the 23 goals scored by the club in the 2021-22 season. The 32-year-old Finnish striker also had three assists and contributed 60% of all goals scored by Norwich City. His contract with Norwich City runs out this summer. However, they have the option to extend it for one more year.

Teemu Pukki has scored 11 goals in both his Premier League seasons and will be an experienced option at a bargain price for clubs looking to secure his transfer.

    Player: Maxwell Cornet Team: Burnley

Maxwell Cornet is a versatile player who can play as a striker, midfielder or winger. He scored nine goals and one assist for Burnley, the highest among any other player from the club.

The Ivory Coast international had a clause in his contract triggered on Burnley's relegation. Maxwell Cornet is currently available for a transfer of USD 23 million.
