Newcastle United are planning an audacious late-season raid on Chelsea for four players as Eddie Howe looks to bolster his squad before September

They're interested in Callum Hudson-Odoi, Conor Gallagher, and Christian Pulisic.

Newcastle is also interested in signing Armando Broja; they can only sign one Chelsea player on loan and cannot sign multiple players on permanent contracts.

This is due to the financial constraints imposed on Howe, who is only allowed to spend a certain amount per window as Newcastle's Saudi-led owners gradually rebuild for the future.

They have only made two signings this summer, with Nick Pope joining from Burnley for £10 million and highly-rated Dutch international Sven Botman joining from Lille.

How are the 4 Newcastle United targets faring at Chelsea?

The Magpies have reportedly had a long-standing interest in Broja, who spent last season at Southampton.

Hudson-Odoi has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Southampton one of many clubs expressing interest in a loan move.

The 21-year-old has struggled to find regular playing time under Thomas Tuchel, and a move away could help him rediscover his passion for the game.

Conor Gallagher had a very successful season at Crystal Palace last term, but he now has to decide the best next step in his career.

After impressing on a season-long loan at Crystal Palace last season, where he won four England caps and scored eight Premier League goals, the 22-year-old has many fans.

Crystal Palace wants to re-sign Gallagher, and Frank Lampard wants to keep him at Everton.

However, it appears that Newcastle is in the lead now, as they are in productive talks with Chelsea.

Due to the strength of the Blues midfield, which includes Mateo Kovacic, N'Golo Kante, and Jorginho, game time for the England international may be challenging. The World Cup in November will also be on his mind.

Pulisic is unquestionably the star of the United States and will be on the roster for Qatar as long as he is not injured.

Staying at Chelsea may appear to be the easiest option for Pulisic on the surface, but it no longer seems to be the best option for the American star.

The arrival of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City is expected to cut Pulisic's playing time even further. However, Timo Werner has returned to RB Leipzig on loan, and Romelu Lukaku has returned to Inter Milan.

Pulisic, like many other Chelsea attackers, has reportedly grown frustrated with not only his minutes but also the system in place.

Although Pulisic will be eager to make the switch, Chelsea is not the same. Fabrizio Romano, a transfer specialist, also has an opinion on this.

According to the journalist, the American will only be sold to Newcastle or another club if Chelsea cannot find a replacement for him in the coming days.

Romano explained Chelsea's predicament: "Newcastle have been interested (in Pulisic), including at the end of June and the beginning of July, but from Chelsea, it was 'no'."

"Before selling all these players, I think Chelsea will need to make sure that they can sign some players in those positions – a new striker and maybe a new winger," Romano continued.
