Manchester City defeats Brighton 3-0; Riyad Mahrez opens the scoring for City

The pace of the game was by Riyad Mahrez in the 53rd minute, Phil Foden in the 65th minute, and Bernardo Silva in the 82nd minute were the goal scorers for Manchester City, while none of the players from Brighton was able to score.

Manchester City went into the first half aggressively but failed to break past Brighton's defense despite all the efforts.

Manchester City took the lead eight minutes into the second half after Kevin De Bruyene passed the ball to Riyad Mahrez after a great run. The Algerian winger broke past  Brighton defender Lewis Dunk and sent the ball into the back of the net with a clean shot. They doubled the lead in the 65th minute as Phil Foden nestled the ball into the bottom corner of the net after receiving a pass from Riyad Mahrez.

Bernardo Silva further increased Manchester City’s lead in the 82nd minute. He sent the ball into the goal with a left-footed shot after receiving a brilliant pass from Kevin De Bruyene.

The match ended with a 3-0 victory for Manchester City. They reclaimed the top spot on the Premier League chart just one day after losing it to Liverpool. The Sky Blues are set to play against Watford in a Premier League match at the City of Manchester Stadium on April 23.
