Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool are far from "dream draw" for Manchester City

Liverpool drew Premier League title rivals Manchester City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday and Reds manager Jurgen Klopp says it is far from a "dream draw" for Pep Guardiola’s side.

The semi-final will take place at Wembley on either April 16 or 17, just a week after the two sides play each other in a top-of-the-table clash at the Etihad Stadium on April 10.

This game could go a long way to deciding the Premier League title, with Liverpool just one point behind City following an impressive run of form.

Speaking about the draw, Klopp said, "I don't think we are the dream draw for anyone, but it will be a tough tie and we have to make sure it will be tough for City as well.

"But there are a lot of games to play before that."

The Reds beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday, meaning the quadruple is still very much on following their winning of the Carabao Cup back in February.

They will face Benfica in the Champions League last-eight in April.

The hectic schedule will be challenging for Klopp’s men, but the German manager insists on taking it one game at a time, rather than focusing on the key clashes against Manchester City.

He said, "We have Watford, Benfica, City, Benfica, City, United, Everton (after the international break).

"From a Liverpool perspective these are all massive games and we try to play them one at a time and not all together.

"We knew before the game City would be the opponent if we wanted to go to the final anyway. Now here we go.

"The further you go in whichever competition, the more likely you are you will face City at one point."
