Jurgen Klopp hoping to annoy Manchester City in Premier League title race

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says he aims to be "as annoying as possible" in the Premier League title race as his side challenges Manchester City at the top of the table.

City could only eke out a goalless draw at Crystal Palace on Monday evening, meaning their lead has been cut from six points to four after last weekend’s fixtures.

Liverpool have a game in hand over the Citizens while the two sides also face each other at the Ethiad Stadium on April 10 in what could be a winner-takes-all encounter.

The Reds’ game in hand is against Arsenal on Wednesday and speaking ahead of the clash, Klopp said, "That's the plan [to push City]

"The plan is to be as annoying as possible. We have to win our games.

"It's final after final after final that we play. We're not 10 points ahead with 10 to go. It's in front of us - attack it, chase it, go for it. It's the only chance we have."

The Reds will be looking to stretch their run of Premier League victories to nine games, but they face a Gunners side who have won their last five matches.

Klopp knows that the match at the Emirates is not a foregone conclusion while Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said it would be quite the achievement should they beat the in-form Reds.

He said, "Being able to beat the most in-form team in the country would be really, really big so that's the aim tomorrow."

Arsenal will be looking to consolidate their position in the Premier League’s top four after climbing into fourth place following a 2-0 win over Leicester at the weekend.

They have three games in hand over fifth-place Manchester United, who sit one point behind them.
