Football News: Will Lionel Messi join Barcelona back in 2023?

Lionel Messi left Barcelona and went to Paris Saint Germain under highly controversial circumstances; however, his journey at PSG hasn't been too incredible either

Messi : Back to Barca ? Messi : Back to Barca ?

His contract with PSG is ending after this season, and there is very little probability that he will renew his contract with the club. Meanwhile, reports show that Barcelona's boss, Xavi Hernández, has asked the President, Joan Laporta, to sign Messi on a free transfer for the next season. Xavi is reportedly good friends with Messi and wants to see him in Barca's jersey in the last few years of his career. Messi and Barca share a long and deep history, and his controversial exit from the club broke many hearts.

Reportedly, Barcelona's President, Joan Laporta, is also one of Messi's biggest fans and wants to see him conclude his career in the club. Another reason why Xavi wants Messi to return is that the club is not doing well financially, and Messi's return would give the club the economic boost that it requires. Ironically, the same club that couldn't afford Messi due to its financial position now expects the same player to improve their financial situation. Though Messi is not expected to renew his contract with PSG next year, much will depend on PSG's performance this season.

Why Conte annoyed with Bayern Munich's comment on Harry Kane

Reports say Bayern is eying Harry Kane as their main attacker Robert Lewandowski has left the club for Barcelona. While Kane has remained quiet on the issue, Julian Nagelsmann's recent comment on Kane has upset Conte. Conte has declared the statement to be disrespectful.

In an interview with h/t Daily Star, Nagelsmann commented about Kane, "He could score a lot in the Bundesliga, I don't know the price, but it's tough for Bayern Munich. We'll see what happens in the future."

Meanwhile, Eric Dier believes that all good players are talked about in the public domain, and it isn't that big a deal. He said, "That's normal. Every world class player is always going to be spoken about a lot. I don't really care. In football you don't know what's going to happen tomorrow let alone next week so it's not something I'm bothered about, it's normal that world class players are spoken about."

Kane's comment on the issue is yet to come out. Kane's contract with Tottenham is to continue till 2024. It remains to be seen how Kane's equation with Bayern turns out.
