At the helm of operations lie CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and President Uli Hoeness. However, the name 'Brazzo' is common among fans and spectators of the matches.

The man referred to is Hasan Salihamidzic, who has set new standards for sporting directors in the German top flight. He is the club's frontline strategist, known for keeping the Bavarian giants at the top of the game.

Who is Hasan Salihamidzic? Why is he famous?

Salihamidzic, born in the former Yugoslavian town of Jablanica, was a Bosnian footballer who left his war-volatile hometown and spent his life making a career in football in Germany.

He has six Bundesliga titles, four DFB Cups and a UEFA Champions League victory in his cabinet. However, Bayern was reluctant to hire him as their sporting director initially.

The club needed a new sporting director after Matthias Sammer departed for personal reasons in 2016; Salihamidzic arrived and was eventually deemed as "the final piece of the puzzle" by Rummenigge.

Why is Salihamidzic seen as the best fit as a sporting director at Bayern?

In the 2018/19 season, manager Kovac reported to Salihamidzic, who was in direct touch with Rummenigge, worked closely with president Hoeness and reported to the club's owners.

His role was explained as looking after the football side of things. He was the link between the coach and the team, the coach and the club, and he kept an eye on the scouts and the youth academy.

He was involved in all transfer and contract negotiations along with squad planning for Bayern. Coming in weeks before the start of the 2017/18 season, Salihamidzic was assigned a full transfer window to work on.

He landed the signature of Leon Goretzka from Schalke before the summer window and then was key in the dismissal of coach Carlo Ancelotti in September.

He then asked to bring in Jupp Heynckes, a title-winning decision. During the 2017/18 campaign, Salihamidzic gave new deals to Arjen Robben, Franck Ribery and Rafinha.

He also initiated the professional signing of youngsters Franck Evina, Meritan Shabani, Lukas Mai and Ron-Thorben Hoffmann to curb the flow of academy players departing the club.

Besides rebuilding the medical and scouting departments, Salihamidzic was also responsible for appointing Kovac as Heynckes' successor. Brazzo's decisions have reshaped the club's destiny to befit his bosses' philosophy.

During each football season, Munich can attempt to win six trophies, and Bayern secured a sextuple (going for "6 for 6" in those competitions) in 2020, with Brazzo playing a significant role in their win.

This rare feat is achieved by winning the Continental treble in one season and each of the three competitions. Brazzo is branded as serious and hard-working, besides a man with good connections from his time at Bayern and in Italy.

Moreover, he is well versed in five languages, meaning he can communicate with every player in the squad. Rummenigge believes his presence will only push the team forward.
