The club revealed that they were in control of the situation. Ronaldo skipped the first three weeks of pre-season after taking leave because of a personal emergency.

However, he was ready to undergo routine physical tests and one-on-one meetings with Erik ten Hag. During that time, his agent Jorge Mendes caught up with Ricard Arnold and John Murtough to discuss the future.

Despite Ronaldo's desperation to leave for a Champions League team, Manchester United's representatives clarified that he wouldn't be allowed to leave.

Sir Alex Ferguson's presence at Carrington initiated controversy, primarily because of his role in ushering Ronaldo back to Old Trafford despite interest from Manchester City last year.

However, Manchester United said that the manager was only attending a pre-arranged lunch, and his physical proximity to Ronaldo was not related to Ronaldo's current predicament.

    Where is Jules Kounde going?

The uncertainty of Jules Kounde's future briefly piqued everyone's curiosity. However, the ever-changing status and chaos surrounding him have resulted in Chelsea taking a step back.

They have switched their focus to Denzel Dumfries on Inter Milan, but reports suggest that it is Wesley Fofana who Stamford Bridge is working up about.

The Leicester centre-half was previously linked to the Blues. Still, now that they've missed out on Kounde, Matthijs de Ligt and Nathan Ake, Fofana is at the top of the list and has names like Presnel Kimpembe, Milan Skriniar and Josko Gvardiol.

Chelsea needs another defender besides Kalidou Koulibaly, who cannot replace both Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. However, Leicester are in control of Fofana's future, and they signed him for £36.5million, and his contract runs for another five years.

Kasper Schmeichel might replace Water Benitez

Leicester is in the process of making deals, and both of them involve potential sales. The Foxes have not yet made a single first-team signing this summer, and they might need a goalkeeper soon.

Ligue One club Nice are expecting Kasper Schmeichel to replace Walter Benitez and reports state that the Dane is "an ambitious but accessible target."

He has a year left on his contract, and the 35-year-old is open to playing for a different country. However, his potential transfer depends upon Leicester sourcing and signing a replacement first.
