Manchester United have not yet signed any new players at the time of writing, despite needing to strengthen their squad significantly.

Ten Hag's first-team squad is starting to look pretty thin ahead of the new season after several players have already left the club, including Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, and Edinson Cavani.

The club is also under pressure, with Manchester City, Liverpool, and Tottenham making significant market progress.

Manchester United has made no new signings outside the dugout. Still, Neville fears that - with Liverpool and Manchester City getting Darwin Nunez and Erling Haaland – they will be left behind a step further by rivals that they already trail.

Is Manchester United being left behind?
Manchester City has added Erling Haaland to their squad, while Liverpool has signed Darwin Nunez, and Spurs have completed the signings of Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster.
As Manchester United struggles to close the gap on their divisional rivals, club legend Neville fears the impact this could have on Ten Hag's preparation for the new season - with the fixtures now out.
On Twitter, the former defender said, as little substance is found to the endless rounds of rumors at Old Trafford, "I know early in the window, but it's worrying that United are struggling to get business done.
"The others seem set and ready yet United can't get moving. ETH [Erik Ten Hag] needs his group together asap to mould them. Bringing them in late will only make it harder for him. it happens soon!"

Which names have Manchester United linked?

Manchester United is supposed to be in the middle of an exciting new era thanks to Erik ten Hag's arrival, but he still needs players.

The current squad was the sixth-best in England after the last campaign. They scored fewer goals than Leicester and West Ham United and conceded more than Burnley, who will be playing Championship football next season. So, It is a long way from here.

Although no new faces have been welcomed to Old Trafford's arrivals lounge, there are plenty of rumors about potential recruits.

Frenkie de Jong, a Barcelona midfielder, has been identified as a top target by Manchester United. Ten Hag is familiar with him from his time at Ajax. However, no agreement has been reached for the Dutch international, whose reports claim could be taken from Camp Nou for €60 million (£51m/$62m).

Antony, a Brazil international with Ajax ties, is another creative talent with which the Red Devils continue to be linked. The 22-year-old winger is expected to leave the Eredivisie shortly.

Denmark's Christian Eriksen, a free agent after reaching the end of his short-term contract with Brentford, could also be added to the team to assist with playmaking duties.

Jurrien Timber of Ajax is considered an intelligent addition to the Red Devils' center-back line - he can also fill in as a right defender if necessary.

Pau Torres of Villarreal and Declan Rice of West Ham United are other defenders who continue to attract interest from the Premier League. Inter right-back Denzel Dumfries could also be linked up to join fellow Dutchman Ten Hag.
