EPL : Player of the season

    The EA SPORTS Player of the season is awarded to the best player in England every year. it gives recognition to the most outstanding player in the Premier League, and the recipient is decided through votes from the public combined with those of the 20 club captains and a panel of football experts

    Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)  Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) 

    The player of the season is usually announced till the third week of May. This year, the football stars, including Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Joao Cancelo, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, were named in the draw. Below is the list of all the nominees for the 2021-2022 season.

    Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) 

    Playing right-back Liverpool, Trent exhibits reasonable control at both ends of the pitch, the dominating right flank was the second-best defence in 2021/22, scoring two goals and setting up 12 more. 

    Jarrod Bowen (West Ham United)

    WHU's winger happens to be the second player in the club to reach double figures for both, goals and assists in the EPL season. He scored 12 and set up 10, embodying Paolo Di Canio.

    Joao Cancelo (Manchester City)

    Cancelo happens to be one of the most versatile players in Manchester City. He has played the most minutes of any of the outfield players and completed the most passes in the division. His goal and assists tally equal eight goals. 

    Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

    Kevin De Bruyne is the only player to win more than one EA SPORTS Player of the Season award. His 15 goals and seven assists have him as the front runner and right behind to emulate legends namely, Nemanja Vidic, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Thierry Henry.

    Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)

    Saka's courageous comeback after a penalty-shootout heartbreak in last summer's UEFA European Championship final has stolen hearts. At just 20 years old, Saka has driven his club to achieve the feat for the first time since 2015/16. He now has 11 goals and six assists to his credit.

    Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) 

    Egyptian professional footballer, Mohamed Salah is currently the leader in the Golden Boot race. He has 22 goals, and this year, he became the sixth player to score 20+ goals in four different Premier League seasons.

    Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur)

    Son is unstoppable when it comes to his goal-scoring abilities. He is the next person behind Salah in the Golden Boot race with 21 goals. Interestingly, none of his strikes has been penalty kicks. 

    James Ward-Prowse (Southhampton)

    The Southampton captain has been an exceptional midfielder throughout the season. Four of his nine goals have arisen out of direct free-kicks.
