However, what makes a club great are the players who play for them and the managers who take care of all the intricacies of the club.

Real Madrid witnessed two of the most excellent football managers of this age take the reins of their club and elevate them to new heights. Namely, current manager Carlo Ancelotti and current Roma F.C. manager Jose Mourinho, who managed Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013.

    Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid team, which featured a star-studded side of players, will be remembered as one of the greatest football teams ever.

The Portuguese manager at Real Madrid ran wild with his pacey football style and unceasing counter-attacking skills. His pupils included Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Gonzalo Higuain, Angel De Maria, Mesut Ozil and Marcelo.

Real Madrid proved so deadly on the counter that they overshadowed Pep Guardiola's Barcelona in the 2011/12 season. Real Madrid was crowned Spanish champions, which reduced the impact of Barcelona's dominance in the domestic league.

Real Madrid scored 100 points in Spain's league, proving how efficient they were.

They scored a remarkable 121 goals in that campaign, the highest number of goals recorded in Spanish football and a European record.

Real Madrid wanted to see a La Liga win after four years, and Mourinho did it with style. Mourinho's contributions to the club, which included Ronaldo's growth as a goal-scoring machine, will live in the 2011/12 season memories.

Thanks to their speed, power, and creativity, they won the league title as they played a productive season under the Portuguese manager.

    Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid

It is rare to find someone with the longevity of the 62-year-old Italian, who has remained a fixture in the latter stages of Europe's elite competition and won the trophy three times. As a manager, Carlo Ancelotti has reached the competition's semifinals four times in four different decades.

All the achievements above should give you an idea of Ancelotti's skills as a manager. And what he has contributed to the club is no less a testament that he indeed is one of the most excellent managers ever to do it.

Ancelotti was Real Madrid's manager for two seasons between 2013 and 2015 and led the team to their 10th European Cup title.

Twelve years after the Lisbon triumph over Atletico de Madrid, Ancelotti's leadership saw the team reign supreme in Europe.

During his time at Real Madrid, Ancelotti won four pieces of silverware. After defeating Barcelona in the final, Ancelotti won the Champions League crown and lifted the 19th Copa del Rey Trophy in his first season.

He won two more trophy victories in his second year. He defeated Sevilla to win the UEFA Super Cup and beat San Lorenzo to reach the Club World Cup final.

He is currently the Real Madrid coach with the most wins (78) from his 100 first competitive games.

Ancelotti, now in charge of Real Madrid once again, is on track to win another league title and is currently in the semifinals of the Champions League. It indicates a remarkable comeback.

Ancelotti's first stint as Real Madrid club manager was mixed. They won the European Cup but failed to win the prestigious La Liga. Ancelotti was then dismissed after two years.

Jose Mourinho and Rafael Benitez were pure tacticians, which proved unpopular in the same gig as his predecessor and successor.

Ancelotti, however, has not wavered from his belief in his gameplay. It's still 4-3-3 for the 62-year-old Italian.
