Chelsea defeats Crystal Palace 2-0 and makes it to the FA Cup final

    Chelsea won against Crystal Palace 2-0 in a FA Cup semi-final match at Wembley Stadium on April 17, 2022. It was a tough win for current Champions League title holders to enter their third FA Cup final in a row.

    Chelsea was equally matched with Crystal Palace during the first half. Chelsea started aggressively but failed to convert any opportunities before the half-time. They had controlled 67% of the ball and took 12 shots, compared to 33% possession and six shots by Crystal Palace.

    Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the 65th minute and Mason Mount in the 76th minute were the goal scorers for Liverpool, while none of the players from Crystal Palace was able to score.

    Chelsea finally got a breakthrough in the 65th minute as Tyrick Mitchell lost the ball to Kai Havertz, who made a run towards the byline and sent the ball towards the penalty spot. The ball landed at the feet of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who sent a volley that went into the net after a slight deflection by the Crystal Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland, giving Chelsea a 1-0 lead.

    Just 11 minutes later, Chelsea doubled their lead as Timo Werner fought defenders to send a square pass towards Mason Mount. The English forward scored with a neat shot in the bottom corner of the net, taking the score to 2-0. Crystal Palace tried to fight back but failed to get a breakthrough.

    It was a relatively comfortable win for Chelsea. After a slow first half, they finally got a breakthrough. The match ended with a score of 2-0, sealing their spot in the FA Cup final for the title prize.

    Chelsea will go up against Liverpool at Wembley Stadium on May 14 in the final for The Football Association Challenge Cup.
