Canadian player Alphonso Davies has expressed his dissatisfaction with being consistently utilised as a left-back by Bayern Munich.

Initially signed as a winger in 2019, the 22-year-old talent was converted into a defender by former Bayern Munich head coach Niko Kovac due to an injury to left-back David Alaba.

Throughout the tenures of three successive Bayern trainers, namely Hansi Flick, Julian Nagelsmann, and Thomas Tuchel, Davies has predominantly operated as a left-back, occasionally venturing further up the left flank.

In a recent interview with the German football podcast "Say Less," the player, valued at €70million, expressed his frustration and indicated his desire for a different role in the upcoming season, as he did not wish to compete solely with the soon-to-be-signed Raphael Guerreiro.

Davies explicitly stated that he was "waiting for the chance to play further forward".

The former Vancouver Whitecaps player has made 153 appearances for Die Roten, scoring eight goals and providing 25 assists.
