On the upside, Indian men's and women's teams still hold FIH rank one in Asia.

Expressing her happiness and joy on this accomplishment, the Indian women's hockey team captain, Savita, said, "It is the outcome of all the hard work our team has done over the past few months. We have worked together as a team against strong competition and achieved good results, and we are proud that we are growing and learning together as a unit."

While Australia continued to be the world's number one in men's hockey, the Netherlands replaced India's third position bringing India's men's team down by one. Owing to Netherlands' brilliant performance in the FIH Pro League, they have now acquired the third position, forcing India down to the fourth position in the FIH ranking.

Germany still holds the fifth position. England rose to the sixth position pushing Argentina down by one rank. England's FIH ranking improvement is due to its victories over France and South Africa. After Argentina holds the 7th position, the 8th place is held by New Zealand, Spain, and Malaysia on the 9th and 10th. Spain and Malaysia have recently secured a place in the top 10 men's hockey teams worldwide based on their splendid performance in the Hockey Asia Cup.

As far as the Indian women's hockey team is concerned, they have moved up in the FIH world ranking by one position. Though the Netherlands has continued to hold the top position, India has moved to the sixth position, forcing Spain down to seventh. Australia holds the third position, followed by England and Germany in the fourth and the fifth rank. After India and Spain having the sixth and the seventh position, next in line is Belgium in the eighth position. New Zealand and Japan follow Belgium to acquire the ninth and the tenth rank completing the list of the top 10 best women's hockey teams in the world.

The Indian women's hockey team rose 6th as Spain lost many vital matches during the FIH Pro League against Argentina, England and Belgium. Speaking about this accomplishment, the coach of the Indian women's hockey team, Janneke Schopman, said, "As a team, we aim to improve and grow and become a consistent contender in Women's Hockey. The rise in the FIH World Rankings indicates that we are on the right path."
