The women's team of Argentina also pulled a 1-0 victory over Spain, making them the only team in the FIH Hockey Pro League to win all their matches to date.

The Argentine women's squad began the match aggressively and got an early lead when Granatto Victoria slotted the ball into the net after receiving a pass from her sister Granatto Maria. The first quarter ended with Argentina gaining a 1-0 lead over Spain.

Both the sides attempted to score and increase the pressure on their opponents but failed to find the net. In the second half, Argentina moved their focus to defence and managed to stop all the attempts by the Spanish side to emerge victorious with a score of 1-0.

After the victory, Eugenia Trinchinetti of Argentina said, "Spain is an excellent team. It was a good game. We are happy with that win, and we are preparing for the World Cup, so we are looking forward to tomorrow's game.

The men's squad also started aggressively and sliced through the Spanish defence 13 minutes into the first quarter when Tomas Domene stole the ball from Enrique Gonzales to slot the ball into the net past Spanish goalkeeper Mario Garin a well-composed shot. The rest of the match saw both the squads struggling to maintain the possession. Martin Ferreiro came close to doubling the lead for Argentina, but his shot was cleared off the line.

Argentina stands at the second spot on the chart with 22 points, trailing just five points behind chart-toppers India.

Both the squads are set to lock horns again in the second leg of the match at Estadio Betero in Valencia on May 15.
