S1mple: NAVI's communication must get better

Oleksandr 's1mple' Kostyliev believes communication is a big issue with Natus Vincere's CS:GO team and explains their recent fall from grace.

NAVI were dominant in 2021, as they went on a run which saw them win six tournaments in six months, while s1mple won HLTV's player of the year award.

However, in 2022 they struggled to find success and are still in search of better results with a new roster.

NAVI were humbled by Heroic in the IEM Katowice 2023 semifinals on February 11, and s1mple reckons communication was a real problem.

"We need to focus more on communication and [help] understand the game for young players because they [are] still doing so many mistakes in [the] playoffs," s1mple told Dot Esports.

"Our communication was on [the] lowest level in this game against Heroic."

S1mple also pointed out that NAVI needed more time to get used to the map pool with the new-look roster.

"We just need to make better our map pool, because as you see, we only had a chance to pick Inferno all the time," he added.

"We had like two to three weeks of preparation. We had boot camp as well. We just couldn't practice all six maps."
