Overwatch 2: Tracer's accuracy accidentally buffed by bug

The season five patch notes for Overwatch 2 contained a major error, Blizzard have admitted - a bug which overpowered Tracer.

They discovered a bug that caused Tracer's Pulse Pistols to have a smaller maximum weapon spread than intended.

In simpler terms, the bullets fired from her weapon were less scattered when continuously fired, resulting in better accuracy.

This bug had a notable impact on Tracer's damage output at close range, as it effectively increased the range at which she could deal lethal damage beyond what was intended.

To rectify this, Blizzard have increased the spread of Tracer's Pulse Pistols by 15 percent in the launch of Overwatch 2 season five.

The developers are closely monitoring the effects of this change, as it may significantly affect Tracer's overall effectiveness.

However, players who have experienced frustration when being eliminated by Tracer before she escapes are likely to be pleased to see her power reduced.

The delay in addressing Tracer's overpowered damage could be attributed to the disdain and frustration players have expressed towards her. Despite being one of the most played DPS heroes among the Top 500 players, she was not mentioned in Blizzard's balance change posts leading up to season five.

Overall, this adjustment may have the potential to alter Tracer's position at the top of the ranked leaderboard in season five.
