T1 started 2022 strongly, winning the LCK Spring Split and the playoffs that followed, but Gen.G came back in the second half of the season, winning the Summer Split and playoffs.

Speaking to invenglobal.com, T1 stalwart Faker believes they will remain very competitive in 2023.

"Gen.G's roster didn't change much from last year, so I thought they have the best chance to win besides us," said the LoL veteran.

"T1's strength is that since we don’t have any changes in the roster, we have an advantage in the spring, but it depends on how hard we work."

When asked what motivates him after being at the top of the esport for so long, the South Korean pointed to passion.

"My goal is to do my best and improve based on what I learned last year," said the 26-year-old.

"Passion is the most important, so I always worked hard with passion. That’s probably why I was able to maintain my performance."

The 2023 LCK Spring split begins in the first week of February.
