Ethan and Demon1 Join NRG's impressive VALORANT roster

NRG has solidified its position as a VALORANT powerhouse by bolstering its roster.

Already possessing a formidable team with Crashies, Victor, and Marved, they've now added Ethan and Demon1 from the VALORANT Champions-winning Evil Geniuses squad. This move follows severe executive mismanagement causing a shakeup within EG.

Reports surfaced of Ethan and Demon1 being stuck in "contract jail," allegedly due to EG rejecting reasonable buyout offers, leaving the players stranded as the 2024 season loomed. As EG potentially looked to offload its esports assets, including the VALORANT vertical, players faced an uncertain future.

While Evil Geniuses grapples with internal challenges, NRG has emerged as the main beneficiary. Armed with a solid core, including players from the dominant OpTic roster, the addition of Demon1 and Ethan positions NRG as a formidable force in the 2024 Americas league.

In the 2023 season, both NRG and EG vied closely for dominance in the North American majority teams index within the Americas region. NRG secured second place in league play, closely trailed by EG in third, with LOUD claiming the top spot. At Masters Tokyo, NRG finished fourth while EG surged to the grand finals. However, NRG faced a setback at Champions, exiting in the group stage after defeats to Bilibili Gaming, whereas EG clinched the championship.

Now, combining important elements from both NRG and EG onto a single roster, NRG is set to emerge as a prime contender in the Americas league.
