Esports News: Team Redline named Autosports Esports Team of the Year

    The 22-year-old Sim's racing squad Team Redline have won the 2022 Autosport Esports Team of the Year Award presented by Motorsport Games.

    Team Redline were selected as the top sim racing team of the past 12 months, beating the likes of R8G Esports, Veloce Esports, and Apex Racing.

    Since winning the inaugural edition of the iRacing World Championship Grand Prix Series in 2010, Team Redline have remained competitive to dominate multiple competitions on different platforms in 2022.

    Team Redline began the 2022 season by winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual in both classes, followed by solid performances at the Formula, BMW Sim GT Cup, Porsche TAG Heuer Esports Supercup, Pro Series, and DTM Esports.

    The manager of Team Redline, Dom Duhan, said: "We are incredibly honoured to receive this award, which is a testament to the hard work and exceptional abilities we have in the team.

    "The past year has been littered with incredible achievements. Thank you to all our partners and those who have been part of our journey. We couldn't have done it without your support."

    The team's driver roster is professional, adaptable, quick, and consistent. 

    Enzo Bonito gave excellent performances at the VCO Esports Racing League, Kevin Siggy lifted the DTM Esports championship trophy, and Jeffrey Rietveld played a vital role in the success of Team Redline at the Le Mans Virtual Series.

    Other awards presented at the event by the expert judging panel were the Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award, the Gregor Grant Award for lifetime achievement, the Gold Medal for lifetime legacy, and Motorsport Promoter of the Year.

    The awards for International International Racing Driver of the Year, Rally Car of the Year, Rookie of the Year, National Driver of the Year, Racing Car of the Year, and Esports Driver of the Year were decided by fan voting.
