The first limited-time mode of Overwatch season two, Battle for Olympus mode, is coming in January 2023. Players must purchase or progress through the new battle pass to unlock the latest hero Ramattra.

Let’s take a look at five new things season two of Overwatch is bringing for the players:

Map Rotation: The new season will bring a new map pool. Fan favourite maps such as Blizzard World and Rialto will be coming back alongside an exciting new map, ‘Shambali Monastery.’ Hollywood and Gibraltar are going out of the rotation, while Nepal and Oasis will be changed to feature different themes.

Battle Pass:  A brand new battle pass is available on sale. Players can also unlock new free rewards by doing the in-game challenges. The hero unlock system will be the same as season one and players will have to grind to level 55 to open the latest hero.

Battle For Olympus: A new limited mode called ‘Battle for Olympus’ will go live from the fifth to the 19th of January. The new season will also feature Greek-themed cosmetics.

Balance Changes: The top tiers of the competitive ranks have been dominated by Sojourn according to the player feedback and metrics.

Blizzard Entertainment will bring buffs for Doomfist, Mercy, Kiriko, Bastion, and Ana, while Sojourn will be nerfed to address the challenges for players.

Catch-Up Hero Challenges: Players can unlock Kirko from season one and other heroes through the in-game shop, or else they can go to the challenges and go to the practice range to open the heroes they want and learn new abilities.

The new season of Overwatch will be live until February 2023.

Game director Aaron Keller said, “The team is looking at potential changes to Sojourn, Doomfist, Ramattra, Roadhog, and Tracer with the planned balance changes coming later this week. We’ll likely know more once the changes are made though.”
