It was one of those games where New Zealand's batters and bowlers rose to the occasion to assist them in recording an easy victory.

The home team reached the target in the 18th over. Earlier, the bowlers performed satisfactorily, limiting Bangladesh to 137/8 with two wickets each from Ish Sodhi, Michael Bracewell, Tim Southee, and Trent Boult.

Kiwis never provided the Bangladesh batters with free balls regarding their bowling. Meanwhile, Bangladesh was losing wickets at a steady rate. When Mehidy Hasan Miraz left the game, the visitors never recovered. Except for their opener, Nazmul Hossian, no one got going.

The situation seemed to worsen for them after the openers were out. They advanced from 59/2 to 110/7. They eventually only managed 137/8.

Right from the start, the batters for the home team appeared to be pretty aggressive. Finn Allen created the groundwork with a flurry of boundaries, but he left early. Devon Conway took over from there and began playing some entertaining shots. Kane Williamson was the second fiddle as the southpaw played strokes all over the wicket.

Glenn Phillips added the final touches after Conway scored 51-ball 70. Phillips finished the chase in the 18th, scoring 9-ball 23, including two sixes.

The host will take on Pakistan on 11 October in the T20 Tri-Series.
