The Mumbai Indians have created a big and secure MI arena on their home ground, Mumbai. The Bio-secure MI Arena is expected to hold a capacity of 13,000 people. The main purpose is to act as a recreational arena for the families of the players and hold subordinate and coaching staff.

That "MI Arena," as per the release, will include both player and team zones. It should be included in the main bio-safety box. A soccer pitch, a wedge ball court, box cricket, foot volleyball, golf driving range, MI Playground, mini-golf, MI Restaurant, and a children's section are available at the venue. Ishan Kishan, for example, would just be eager for a promising start since he was bought by the franchise for a record USD 13,531.21, making him one of the most expensive players in the IPL 2022 super auctions.

What we know about Mumbai Indians

During the initial moments, the Mumbai Indians were tipped to be the most promising team with big names. The team had good talents, but they did not perform as well as expected. The players were not fast and sharp enough to perform for the team.

The Mumbai Indians later revived their dream by signing younger players. MI signed players such as Abhishek Nayar, Ambati Rayudu, and Kieron Pollard. During the 2011 auction, the team made four moves and retained key players such as Sachin Tendulkar, Kieron Pollard, and Malinga.

In the IPL 2013 season, the Mumbai Indians signed big names such as Ricky Ponting and made Rohit Sharma the captain of the team. The Mumbai Indians enjoyed their investment during the 2013 IPL season by winning the tournament.

Mumbai India didn’t do as well in the upcoming season, maybe due to the abrupt venue change. Despite this, they advanced to the quarterfinals by a significant margin based on net run rate. However, they lost in the playoffs to the Chennai Super Kings.

The Mumbai Indians won their second IPL title in 2015, after defeating the Chennai Super Kings by 41 runs. Despite opening the season with multiple losses, they climbed back up the ladder by sweeping nine of their next ten games. During IPL season 2017, a powerful Mumbai Indians squad emerged first in the IPL rankings, winning 10 of the 14 games.

In one of the finest Indian Premier League games ever played, they overcame the Rising Pune Supergiant by just one run. In the 2019 and 2022 IPL seasons, the Mumbai Indians won the IPL league consecutively. With the good ownership and success of the franchise, they have decided to expand the MI stadium with the 13,000-capacity arena. This is to appreciate and motivate their players more for their success.
