KFC BBL season 12: Adelaide Strikers start with a commanding win over the Sydney Sixers

Adelaide Strikers beat Sydney SixersAdelaide have one of the season's most dangerous three-person lines in Matthew Short, Jake Weatherald, and former Brisbane Heat captain Chris Lynn.
Short's blistering 84 from 53 balls, supported by Chris Lynn's 41 (34) and Adam Hose's 40 (22), took the Strikers to an impressive score of 6/184.
Shaun Abbott took three poles but was very expensive with 3-37 from his four overs. Young Afghan star Izharulhaq Naveed also showed promise with 2-25 from four overs.
The sixers were on the defensive from the first ball and could not find the momentum to get the result. Three wickets fell for just over a run per ball in the first nine overs.
Kurtis Patterson was the first to fall when he guided a drive from seamer Henry Thornton to keeper Harry Nielsen (9).
Jordan Silk was the top scorer with 36 (33), while captain Moises Henriques24 (29), and Josh Phillipe 26 (23) were the only other batsmen not to get into the teens.
Thornton was the best bowler, taking 4-20, while leg-spinner Rashid Khan took 3-21.

The Sixers ran out of time at 7-133 as the home team's bowlers scored just 6.65 per over.
