Jetsetter Marcus Stoinis set to feature in SA20

    Marcus Stoinis. Marcus Stoinis.

Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis is set to feature for the Durban Super Giants in the ongoing SA20.

Stoinis is a busy man. The Perth native has already played two Big Bash League matches this year and when the tournament is over for his Melbourne Stars, he'll fly to the other side of the world to play in the SA20.

The right-hander is already signed with the IPL's Lucknow Super Giants, so playing for their affiliate club out of Durban made sense.

Stoinis' omission from Australia's ODI squad to face the West Indies has made this possible. That said, he is still hoping to be included in their T20I squad for series against West Indies and New Zealand later in February, which could result in him missing the back end of the SA20.

"I'll be going to South Africa for the play for my IPL franchise Lucknow over there which Cricket Australia has been in the loop with the whole time," confirmed the 34-year-old with espncricinfo.

"So I think all makes sense to be honest. I've got every intention to play T20 cricket for Australia as long as I can, as long as they want me.

"I feel like my international and T20 [franchise] cricket has been good over the last whatever period. And I've got a great relationship with the boys in the team and also with the likes of Timmy David and Wadey [Matthew Wade] and Ingo [Josh Inglis], that group that bat in the middle order, which I think is what we're trying to nurture as a team to build towards the big tournaments."
