IPL 2022: Old teams and revenge games of this season
The Indian Premier League franchises have been on top since the announcement of two new teams and mega-auctions

The auctions saw plenty of movement from the first name going under the hammer to key players shifting their base to new teams. Some players failed to attract bidders, while some triggered bidding wars. So here, let's take a look at the players who shifted their bases and fared exceptionally well in a revenge game against their former franchises.
David Warner vs SRH
Delhi Capitals' opener David Warner had one of his roaring and best stints against former franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. The left-hander flared with the bat to hammer 92 off just 58 deliveries to help the team post a total of 207/3. He built an unbeaten stand of 122 runs with Rovman Powell at the fourth wicket. The team then successfully defended their capacity to win the match by 21 runs. Apart from this, he tops the charts of most fifties in this season, having scored five fifties. LSG's Deepak Hooda and GT's skipper Hardik Pandya stand just below him with four half-centuries.
Krunal Pandya vs MI
The all-rounder has come in handy with the new side, mainly with the ball. After being released by Mumbai Indians before auctions, the left-handed all-rounder was bought by Lucknow Super Giants in mega-auctions. Krunal played two matches against Mumbai Indians and had a good contest, especially in the second clash. He remained unbeaten at 1off 1 and bowling figures of 0/16 in two overs in the first match. However, in the second clash, he scalped three crucial wickets for 19 runs in 4 fours to help the team win by 36 runs. Apart from these two matches with the former franchise, he has been magnificent as a bowler for the new side.
Yuzvendra Chahal vs RCB
On being released by former franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore, Yuzvendra Chahal expressed his disappointment of not being retained. Rajasthan Royals picked the bowler in mega-auctions, and since then, he has been the most consistent bowler of this season, leading the charts of most wickets in this edition. He faced RCB twice this season. RR lost their first match but came back to win the second one. In the first match, he returned with figures of 2/15 in four overs, and in the second match, he remained wicketless but conceded only 23 runs in 4 overs.
Kuldeep Yadav vs KKR
Delhi Capitals made the best decision to include and back Kuldeep Yadav's wrist-spinner in mega-auctions. After being benched for nearly two seasons, the player himself must not have expected to be supported by some other franchise. However, the Capitals found one of the best bowlers in him. The chinaman bowler left a considerable impression while donning DC's jersey. The bowler had a two-five wicket haul this season, which came against his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. In the first game against KKR, he returned with figures of 4/35 and helped DC win by 44 runs. In the second game, he had figures of 4/14 in three overs to help restrict KKR at 146, which DC comfortably chased down. Overall, the bowler has taken 21 wickets in 14 matches to get in the selectors' eyes. He bagged a spot in team Indian T20 squad once again.
