    1. Sachin Tendulkar

Tendulkar has the most Cricket World Cup runs overall. He collected 2278 runs from 44 innings between 1992 and 2011. His tally included six centuries and 15 half-tons. Australia's Ricky Ponting is second to Tendulkar with 1743 runs in 32 World Cup innings.

    2. Virat Kohli

From 2011 to 2019, Kohli has collected 1030 runs in 26 innings at the World Cup. Currently in 17th position overall, Kohli will potentially move into the top five on the back of this 2023 tournament. He surpassed West Indian Viv Richards during the previous World Cup - and isn't far away from moving past South African Herschelle Gibbs, New Zealand's Stephen Fleming and others this time.

    3. Sourav Ganguly

Ganguly garnered 1006 runs in 21 innings from 1999 to 2007, with a highest score of 183. He averaged over 55 at World Cups, but at the sluggish strike rate of 77.50 - slow in the modern era. He had a solid conversion rate with four centuries to three half-tons.

    4. Rohit Sharma

Sharma, like Kohli, remains an active ODI cricketer, unlike Ganguly, Tendulkar and others. The current Indian captain has 978 World Cup runs from 17 innings. His conversion rate is excellent with six tons to three half-centuries.

    5. Rahul Dravid and others

Then come Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Mohammad Azharuddin, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Kapil Dev and several other former all-rounders and batsmen, who have impressed for India at past Cricket World Cups.
