Has CSK found their winning combination?

Chennai Super Kings had a disappointing start to the season with four consecutive losses but were able to make a comeback by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore in the previous match. Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube displayed mesmerizing performances with their bat to post the highest total (216) of the season. Maheesh Theekshana spun his mystery spinning web around Bangalore's batters. The form of Ruturaj Gaikwad as an opener remains a matter of concern for the franchise. Bowlers will look forward to being more consistent with their spells and winning the second one for their team.

GT: One of the best teams of the season so far.

On the other hand, Gujarat Titans have been consistently sensational with their performance. Placed at the top of the points table, the team has been presenting an all rounding performance. Skipper Hardik Pandya has been terrific with bat, ball, fielding and captaincy. He looks to get better with each passing day in all departments. Shubman Gill, Abhinav Manohar, too, had performed decently well whenever needed. Rashid Khan keeps the run flowing, controlled by the opposition with his world-class spins. The team will be looking to carry forward their winning momentum and retain the top spot.

Stats to keep an eye on

    • Shivam Dube strikes at 211 once he gets through the first ten balls of his innings. That is the best out of anyone in this IPL. In ten IPL innings when he has come in before the eighth over, he averages 41.1 and strikes at 143.
    • Gujarat Titans, mainly because of Mohammed Shami, have phenomenal power play numbers. They've picked up 12 wickets (first place) at an average of 18.8 (second place) and a strike rate of 15 (first place).

It will be interesting to see if Ravindra Jadeja led CSK can stop Gujarat from winning and gain two more points for themselves.
