Thus, denying Peter Siddle a hat-trick as he nearly defended nine runs off the last over and took the win home.

Somerset posted a target of 145 on the scoreboard as opener Tom Banton scored 39 off 25 as the leading run-scorer. Some valuable additions came from Tom Lammonby, who scored 21 off 14 in the middle and an unbeaten 27 chipped in by Lewis Goldsworthy in the lower order. The remaining batters struggled to score as Gus Atkinson, and Conor McKerr took two wickets each. In contrast, Sunil Narine and Chris Jordan bowled with a terrific economy of 4.5 and 5.5, respectively.

In response, the table-topper got off to a perfect start as opener Will Jacks remained unbeaten at 66 in 20 overs. The middle-order in the form of Sunil Narine (13), Rory Burns (11) and Laurie Evans (12) failed to convert their innings big as they all lost their wickets to Lewis Gregory.

The match turned into a thriller with four needed in the final ball, which was the first one for Conor McKerr to face as Peter Siddle was on a hat-trick. Surrey retained their unbeaten status while Somerset remained in second place in the table.

    Middlesex Vs Glamorgan

Put in to bat first, Middlesex lost their skipper Stephen Eskinazi early for seven runs. But Max Holden and Joe Cracknell stitched a 66-run stand to get the innings back on track. While Max Holden held the innings with his 58, Joe Carnell scored 33, and Martin Andersson played a terrific cameo of 17 off 5 to boost the innings and take the total to 171.

However, in response to the total, opener skipper David Lloyd and Sam Northeast put up a 150-run opening stand, making the chase game a light work for Glamorgan. The duo smashed 22 boundaries and five maximums to put forward a swashbuckling show. David Lloyd and Sam Northeast scored 67 and 89 runs, respectively and helped the team close the chase in the 15th over itself.

    Kent Spitfires Vs Gloucestershire

Ian Cockbain and Glenn Phillips scored in the fifties to leave Kent Spitfires condemned to their ninth tournament loss. This was their third defeat in succession despite putting a valiant effort in chasing 195 runs as they fell short by 5.

Gloucestershire, while batting first, lost the early wicket of Miles Hammond to Jack Leaning. However, Chris Dent and Ian Cockbain built an 81-run partnership, but Chris Dent (40) soon lost his wicket to Qais Ahmad. Glenn Phillips joined hands with Ian Cockbain as the duo smashed 64 and 62 runs respectively to rocket the total to 195/4 in 20 overs.

In reply, Kent's innings began decently well as their opener Joe Denly scored 31 runs. Jordan Cox (32), Alex Blake (36) and Sam Billings (26) added valuable runs but failed to convert them into their big innings. A cameo from Jack Leaning, scoring an unbeaten 37 off 18, fell short as Ryan Higgins managed to restrict him to 13 in the final over when 19 runs were needed to win. Thus, Gloucestershire grabbed the win over Kent Spitfires by five runs.
