Joe Root is the only member from fab-four who is in touch and form, scoring runs and winning the game for his team. From completing 10,000 international test runs to 28 test centuries (Most active cricketers today), he is confident of scoring centuries every second match. In 18 innings played this year in Test matches by Joe Root, he has scored 927 runs with an average of 61.80 and an impressive strike rate of 61.47. His innings of 142 not out with Jonny Bairstow was his 5th century this year and the turning point for the match when England chased down the historic total at Edgbaston. With this ton, he has become the player with the most three-digit score against India in the history of Test cricket, surpassing Ricky Ponting, Viv Richards, and Gary Sobers, who scored right centuries.

    Shut up Broady

Stuart Broad was asked to shut up by the umpire during the Birmingham Test.

"Broady!! Broady!! Get on with the batting and shut up," Richard Kettleborough didn't like Stuart Broad complaining repeatedly and cleared who's the umpire. During England's first inning of the rescheduled fifth test that England won, Stuart Broad was not enjoying back-to-back bouncers from Mohammad Siraj. He came into bat after Jonny Bairstow departed as Mohammad Siraj took the bouncers' approach for new batter Stuart Broad. Broad managed to pull one of the bouncers but felt annoyed at why the umpire was not giving any warning to the bowler even after he brought the matter to them. When Broad again went to confront, this is what umpire Richard Kettleborough said, "Let us do the umpiring – you do the batting, alright? Otherwise, you're going to get into trouble again."

Cricketers hailed the batter on Twitter and wrote

Virender Sehwag tweeted, "4th Test hundred of the series for this amazing Run machine, Joe Root. The best test batsman in the world right now #INDvENG".

"He is getting better & better … which is a ridiculous thing to say about England greatest … #Rrrrroooooooottttttttttt #ENGvIND," tweeted Michael Vaughan.

Jasprit Bumrah: the youngest bowler with 100 wickets in SENA countries

Jasprit Bumrah became the youngest Asian to take 100 wickets in SENA countries, surpassing Pakistan's legendary pacer - Wasim Akram. Jasprit Bumrah completed the feat at 28 years 211 days, while Wasim Akram was 28 years 230 days old. He also became the 6th Indian bowler to complete 100 SENA wickets, of which he is the fifth pacer after Ishant Sharma (130), Zaheer Khan (119), and Mohammad Shami (119), and Kapil Dev (117). Anil Kumble leads this tally of Indian bowlers taking wickets in SENA countries with 141 wickets.

England batters Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow played masterful knocks in England's second innings to chase down a mammoth target of 378 to register a thumping 7-wicket win over India. Despite losing three wickets in quick succession, the two Yorkshiremen kept the scoreboard ticking at ease, picking gaps and thrashing Indian bowlers. England thus succeeded in leveling the series by 2-2.

Twitter burst with reactions after England registered this thumping win:

Sachin Tendulkar wrote, "Special win by England to level the series. Joe Root & Jonny Bairstow have been in sublime form and made batting look very easy. Congratulations to England on a convincing victory. @Bazmccullum #ENGvIND."

Virender Sehwag, too congratulated England, pointing out India's errors, "Congratulations, England, on your highest successful run chase.

India has quite a few issues to address, only Pujara & Pant from the top 6 scoring runs and Jadeja batting brilliantly, but they need batters to be in form. Bowling in the fourth innings was listless #INDvsENG.'

Australian remarkable Brad Hogg commented, "Change of coach and captain for both teams and a change of fortunes for both. Fantastic test match. England has made a statement over the last couple of months. Test cricket is in good hands for now! #INDvENG."

Known for his unique sense of humor and social media presence, Wasim Jaffer was called out by former England cricketer Michael Vaughan. Vaughan tagged Jaffer to write, "Just checking are ok @WasimJaffer14".

To this friendly banter, Wasim Jaffer replied, "In all the excitement. You forgot to write 'you'. Check the scoreline. It's only 2-2 #ENGvIND."
