Cricket News: Andre Russell, Moeen Ali, and Wanindu Hasaranga among big-ticket sign-on for UAE's ILT20

    UAE's International T20 League (ILT20) has announced a stunning line-up of superstars who have been signed to participate in the inaugural event

    The league has seen some big signings from nations including England, West Indies, South Africa, Australia, Ireland, Zimbabwe, Netherlands, Namibia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and the USA. 

    Moeen Ali, Andre Russell, Dawid Malan, Evin Lewis, Fabien Allen, Sam Billings, Tom Curran, Sunil Narine, Chris Lynn, Wanindu Hasaranga, Shimron Hetmyer, Chris Jordan, Alex Hales, Colin Munro, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Akeal Hosein, Tom Banton, and Rovman Powell were unveiled as some of the big-ticket sign-on for the inaugural edition of ILT20.

    Regarding team structure, Emirates Cricket General Secretary Mubashshir Usmani said, "It's exciting to see how well the squads are shaping up for the first season of ILT20. Each team will consist of 18 players, including 4 UAE players and also 2 other players from ICC Associate countries. The quality of the names announced today is outstanding and so is the interest in our league from top players from all around the world."

    The second list of players announced by the league includes Lahiru Kumara, Seekkuge Prasanna, Charith Asalanka, Isuru Udana, Jamie Overton, Colin Ingram, Paul Stirling, Kennar Lewis, Ali Khan, Brandon Glover, Ravi Rampaul, Raymon Reifer, Richard Gleeson, Blessing Muzarabani, Niroshan Dickwella, Hazaratullah Zazai, Frederick Klassen, Sikandar Raza, George Munsey, Dan Lawrence, Dominic Drakes, Liam Dawson, David Wiese, Qais Ahmed, James Vince, Noor Ahmed, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Benny Howell, Navin Ul Haq, Sherfane Rutherford, Saqib Mahmood, Ben Duckett, and Ruben Trumpelman.

    With more players to be announced in the upcoming days, the ILT20 franchise teams are likely to be bolstered by many global cricketing stars. Making its debut in January 2023, the league's inaugural event has also received multi-year ICC approval. 

    Therefore, it will be played in a 34-match format across the UAE's exemplary, world-class Cricket facilities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
